Staying home this summer? Bring creativity to your home with these DIY theatre camps! Created specifically to do at home, students will explore various elements through instructional videos, games, crafts, and exercises. The videos are designed to watch together as a family and are appropriate for all age groups, while the activities are tailored for each specific age group and experience level. The curriculum can vary to your schedule with classes lasting 30-120 minutes depending on how you choose to use the materials. A professional theatre instructor will be on-call for any questions throughout the week. See below for descriptions of each course!

THEATRE 101

Nail the fundamentals! In this five-day course, students will learn the basics of acting, theatre history, physicality, voice & diction, how to create a character, and performance & audition techniques. You will receive 5 lesson videos, 5 lesson plans, and 34 related activities.

MUSICAL THEATRE

The hills are alive with the sound of Musical Theatre! This 5-day course will cover musical theatre history & basics, acting the song, musical composers, singing techniques, choreographers, dancing, and musical writing. You will receive 5 videos, 5 lesson plans, and 17 related activities.

COMEDY

Laughter is the best medicine—and one of the most difficult forms of acting to master! Develop your comedic chops by learning about the history of comedy and the genres of stand-up, satire, parody, sketch, physical, slapstick, and improvisational comedy. You will receive 5 videos, 5 lesson plans, and 19 related activities.

TECHNICAL THEATRE

Let’s go Behind the Scenes! Learn about the heroes behind the curtain through the art of set, lighting, sound, costume, makeup, and prop design! You will receive 5 videos, 5 lesson plans, and 32 related activities.

SHAKESPEARE CRASH COURSE

Learn about the Bard in this Crash Course! Students will learn about the life of William Shakespeare, the three genres of his plays including Comedy, Tragedy, and History, in addition to his famous sonnets and Shakespeare performance techniques. You will receive 5 videos, 5 lesson plans, and 18 related activities.
