These elite studios exist with the purpose to learn and reinforce the principles of healthy vocal technique, to apply these principles to the interpretation of solo vocal repertoire, to polish performing skills, to prepare for college, and develop and nurture young artists’ confidence in self and in performance. Each studio only accepts a limited number of students per year, creating personalized and individualized attention for each member. See below for application requirements.
What's included...
The junior elite studio is designed for serious students wanting to take their vocal technique to a new level. The curriculum focuses on creating a strong foundation in singing including breath support, range, control, diction, anatomy, music theory, and repertoire.

The elite studio is designed for pre-professional students who are interested in pursuing music or theatre at a collegiate or professional level. The curriculum focuses on building repertoire, college-prep, and advanced vocal techniques.


Private coaching
Weekly sessions with vocal coach, Zach Shockley. Zach holds a B.A. in Commercial Voice from Trevecca University and currently serves as the music director for Act Too Players.

Studio recording
Students will participate in an in-studio recording experience where they will record a demo reel, one full-length song, and one group song. At the session, there will be professional recording artists and industry professionals that will work with each student individually to master the art and technique of in-studio recording.

ProfessIonal
Panel
Students will participate in a professional panel experience. In attendance will be professional actors, vocalists, educators, and representatives from local universities who will provide students with valuable, individualized feedback from industry professionals.

Student Statement

Students are required to write a personal statement. Please describe why you think you would benefit from elite vocal coaching. What are your personal, professional, and vocal goals? In addition, please describe your personal music style. This could include favorite bands, artists, or musicals!

Parent Statement

Parents are required to write a personal statement. Please describe why you think your child would benefit from elite vocal coaching. How will you support your child during their coaching? What are your goals for your child throughout vocal coaching?

Letter of Recommendation

Please include a letter of recommendation from an individual in the performance field who has worked with you in the past. This could be a choir teacher, musical theatre director, piano teacher, etc. Please submit this document as a PDF. This is not required for students who have had private coaching from Zach in the past.

Two need-based scholarships will be available every year. Scholarships will cover all fees and costs associated with this program.
